One of the most prominent urban landmarks
in the northeast United States is Boston Gas
Company’s gas tank mural, designed by Corita
Kent (1918–1986).
Corita Kent (also known as Sister Mary
Corita Kent) was an artist and educator who
worked in Los Angeles and Boston. Her work,
primarily silkscreen and serigraphy, contained
messages of love and peace and was popular
during the social and political unrest of the
1960s and 1970s. ...
