Streamline styling, also referred to as Style
Moderne, or simply Moderne, was extremely
popular in the United States from the 1920s
through the 1940s and was expressed in styles
traditionally classified as art deco, WPA Mod-
erne, and Streamline Moderne.
This styling concept was a direct reaction
to art deco, as well as a reflection of austere
