Introducing Font Formatting
In Word, you can apply an extraordinarily wide range of formats to specific characters. As already mentioned, Word calls this font formatting. It includes the following:
The choice of font
Font size
Font style (for example, bold or italic)
Underlining
Font effects (for example, strikethrough, superscript, or emboss)
Font color
Scaling (font stretching)
Spacing between groups of letters
Position of text on a line
Kerning (spacing between specific pairs of letters)
Text animation
As already mentioned, you can control any type of font formatting through the Format, Font dialog box. However, when it comes to the formatting you do most, Word usually has quicker ways to get the job done.
