A Quick Guide to Page Setup

You've created a document. But before you print it, you want to make sure all your margins and other page settings are correct. You can control the following aspects of page formatting from the Page Setup dialog box:

  • Change margins (including setting up a document for binding)

  • Set the size and orientation of your paper

  • Choose the tray from which your printer is to print

  • Divide your document into sections

  • Add line numbers

  • Control the vertical alignment of text on the page

Each of these elements can be controlled for your entire document, or for individual sections you've created. To view the Page Setup dialog box, choose File, Page Setup.

Note

Much of what is discussed in the remainder of this chapter applies only to documents ...
