Connecting with Hyperlinks
The most powerful aspect of hyperlinks is the ease with which they enable you to connect to information that has already been created. You don't have to re-create the information or even get the information and place it into your document. You just need to build a link. This leads to all kinds of terrific synergy. For instance, if you read a very detailed article online, you may include a summary of the article in your Web page with a link to the complete article. You can also link to topically related multimedia files (pictures, sounds, video, animations, and so forth) that may be available.
