Adding Support for Other Languages
Previous versions of Word used separate software packages for different languages. This was a particular problem for international organizations whose workers routinely created and edited documents in multiple languages. Word 2000, on the other hand, uses a single English version with plug-in language features to support different languages. Word language-support tools provide features for entering characters and editing text in other languages, for viewing online Help in a choice of languages, for quickly switching between languages used in menus and toolbars, and for checking spelling and grammar in more than one language.
