The REF field places the text associated with a bookmark into your document. With REF, you can copy any text that recurs throughout the document, and when the original changes, all references change, too.

| \f | Includes and increments footnote, endnote, or comment numbers. |
| \h | Inserts a hyperlink to the paragraph marked by the bookmark. |
| \n | Inserts number of paragraph rather than bookmarked text. No trailing periods or information from higher levels of paragraph numbering are included. |
| \p | Inserts the relative position ("above" or "below") of the marked paragraph. |
| \r | Inserts a paragraph number in relative context (for example, plus or minus). |
