The RD field enables you to develop an index or table of contents that includes entries in other documents. RD fields are formatted as hidden text.
Tip
Using RD to reference the contents of other documents uses substantially less memory than incorporating those documents, either via INCLUDETEXT or Word's master documents feature.
{ RD filename }
None.
To insert a table of contents or index based on headings or index entries in the document "C:\My Documents\Proposal.doc," use the following field (including double backslashes):
{ RD "C:\\My Documents\\Proposal.doc" }
→ For more information about building tables of contents, see Chapter 17, "Tables of Contents, Figures, Authorities, and Captioning,".
