So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

What to Do If Word Saves Files as Templates
If Word only allows you to save files as templates, not as .DOC documents, your computer may be infected by a Word macro virus. Run recent antivirus software to eliminate the infection.

What to Do If You Lose Access to a Template
If you suddenly lose access to a template that was always available before, check to see whether the corresponding template file (.DOT) has been moved. Also check to see whether you have lost access to the server where it is stored. If you have exited and restarted Word, also check to see whether the template is a global template that must be reloaded.
