The TOA field builds a table of authorities from the hidden citations marked in your document using TA fields (including those created through the Mark Citations dialog box).
Tip
You'll typically find that the fastest way to insert the table of authorities is by choosing Insert, Index and Tables and working from the Table of Authorities tab.
