SSL-VPNとは、インターネットを介して安全にリモートアクセスを
行うための技術です。SSL-VPN は、Secure Sockets Layer（SSL）プロト
コルを使用して暗号化されたトンネルを作成し、リモートユーザーが企業
のネットワークにアクセスできるようにします。
SSL-VPN はIPSec VPN と比較して、クライアントソフトウェアのインス
トールが不要（Webブラウザがあれば原則利用可能）であるため、複雑な
設定なしにPCやスマートフォンのWebブラウザから使用でき、テレワー
クなどの在宅環境にも比較的対応しやすいといわれています。
SSL-VPN には、次の3 種類の接続方式が存在します（図 3-7）。

SSL-VPNは接続先に設置された機器に性能が依存するため、アクセス
が大量に発生すると性能が低下する可能性があります。
SSL-VPN は WebブラウザからサーバーにSSL通信が行えることを目的に
開発されており、外部（インターネットに接続できる任意の場所）から社
内ネットワークにアクセスすることに向いています。代表的な使いどころ
としては、クレジットカードなどの重要なデータを送信する際に利用され
ます。スマートフォンやモバイルデバイスからのアクセスにも対応していま
