データ移動が少なく、パフォーマンス向上にも寄与する

高い拡張性……アーキテクチャー上、1 万台の装置やEB（エクサー
バーイト）級の容量規模にスケールできる
データを複数ストレージに分散して格納するvSAN
vSANとは、VMware で利用することのできる Virtual SAN方式のスト
レージ仮想化技術（ソフトウェア名称でもあります）です。一般的に、
SDS（Software Defi ned Storage）と呼ばれているものに属します。複数の
ESXiサーバー装置に内蔵されたストレージ（SSDや HDD）を束ねて共用
する方式のストレージ仮想化方式です（図4-9）。
