It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 9. Tools
The Tools menu contains commands that customize the Word interface, automate tasks, proof a document’s spelling and grammar, and collaborate with other Word users in several ways. This chapter examines commands in the first and third command groups of the menu — commands that concern spelling and language, AutoCorrect, AutoSummarize, Mail Merge, envelopes, and letters.
Commands in the second group, those that deal with collaboration, are detailed in Chapter 13. The Tools → Macro submenu is covered in Chapter 18. The Tools → Customize and Tools → Options commands are covered in Chapter 3.
