Chapter 12. Help
Let’s face it — Word is a big program, and all the users I know find themselves needing help sometimes. Word’s online help system is a pretty useful tool, though most users find themselves wanting to turn off the Office Assistant the first chance they get. In addition to providing access to Word’s standard help system, the Help menu offers a few other tools as well. The What’s This command is a handy way to see what a particular item in Word’s interface does or what the formatting is for a character or paragraph. Office on the Web links to Microsoft’s web site, which provides information on Word and even a few handy downloads. WordPerfect Help leads to a complete command reference (and even demos) for WordPerfect users. Finally, Detect and Repair scans all of the Word program files to detect corrupt or missing files and replace them from the Office CD.
