Creating a new package

First, let's set up a folder in the workspace where we will place the package files:

1. Move to the src location in the catkin_ws worspace folder:

$ cd ~/catkin_ws/src

2. Create a package called mygopigo:

$ catkin_create_pkg mygopigo

This command creates two files of the package definition CMakeLists.txt and package.xml, which were already introduced in the previous chapter. As there is a new package, you should rebuild the workspace:

$ cd ~/catkin_ws$ catkin_make

If, at some point, you wish to change the project name, then you need to complete these three steps:

1. Edit in the <name>mygopigo</name> tag in package.xml.
2. Edit the line project (mygopigo) in CMakeLists.txt, where the project has to be the same as the package.xml ...
