Launching the master node and connecting

The following procedure allows us to establish a connection between the laptop and the Raspberry Pi:

  1. Launch the ROS master node in the robot by using the already familiar roscore command:
pi@gopigo3 :~$ roscore
  1. Then, perform a basic check in the laptop to find out if it is aware of the master node's existence:
bronquillo@rosbot:~$ rostopic list /rosout /rosout_agg

/rosout_agg and /rosout_agg are the topics that are published by the master node.

If everything has gone well, you can remotely control your GoPiGo3. Close the Terminal before moving on to the next section to make sure roscore is off.
