Publishing to Portal for ArcGIS

There are several dozen types of items that can be added to your Portal, including geoJSON files, layer files, Excel workbooks, PDFs, and many files as zips such as shapefiles and file geodatabases. In addition to the items that can be added to your portal, services published to ArcGIS Server sites that are federated with your portal are automatically added as items in your portal (see Chapter 5, Portal for ArcGIS Administration for more information on federation). All items added by either method appear in the My Content section of the account that was used to add or publish them.

To add content to your portal you must have Publisher or higher privileges.
