I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Customizing basemaps
Just as in ArcGIS Online, the Portal web map viewer offers a basemap gallery that content creators and editors can use to change the web map basemap. As was the case with Featured Content, Portal administrators have full control over which group is utilized as the basemap group and which basemaps are in that group. To customize the basemap group to use a custom group, follow these steps:
- While logged in as an administrative user, go to Groups | CREATE A GROUP.
- Enter Name, Summary, Description, and Tags for the group.
- Keep Status as Public, and if you want users to be able to request membership to the group so they can contribute basemaps, check whether Users can apply to join the group.
