A quick tour of the configuration store and ArcGIS Server directories

The ArcGIS Server configuration store, commonly referred to as the config store, is a directory of files (many of which are JSON formatted) that contain all the essential properties of the server site, including clusters, machines, services, web adaptors, and security to name a few--in short, the configuration. For this reason, the config store is a crucial piece of ArcGIS Server and should be treated with great care and respect. If possible, the configuration store should reside in a redundant location.
