Scheduled tasks

Chances are, you will have the need to run something as a scheduled task on your servers, more than likely, a script. On Windows machines, Task Scheduler is the standard out-of-the-box way to run tasks at predefined times and intervals. Task Scheduler has been around in some form since Windows 95; unfortunately, it really hasn't changed much since then either. Task Scheduler is rudimentary, but, for most cases, when configured properly, it gets the job done. Let's look at some best practices that can make using Task Scheduler easy.
