Feature services

At a cursory glance, feature services appear to be identical to map services, and on the surface, they essentially are. What sets feature services aside is that a feature service exposes the actual features and symbology used to display those features as opposed to simply exposing the data as a rendered image. With a feature service, it is also possible to edit features (create, update, delete) over the internet and to do so using feature editing templates for an enhanced editing experience. Editing can also be performed on related tables and non-spatial tables as well.
