Configuring the map viewer

In addition to configuring basemaps for the map viewer, several other parameters of the map viewer can be controlled under the map settings:

• Default Basemap: Here, you can change the default basemap that is active when a user creates a new web map. The basemap must come from the default Basemap gallery (discussed earlier).
• Default Extent: This sets the extent of any new web map that is created. The options are to use either the extent of the default basemap or to choose a custom extent. When choosing a custom extent, you can search for an address or draw an extent.
