Pep 8 (https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0008/) provides exhaustive and detailed standards, best practices, and coding conventions to be used in your Python code. There are even online tools that can be used to analyze your code for common errors (or lint your code, as it is referred to) and report back PEP 8 violations; http://pep8online.com/, for example. Instead of covering coding conventions that are already covered in PEP 8, let's focus on ways to improve usability and durability of your scripts.
