Resetting or changing the ArcGIS Server service account password
I hate to tell you this, but, sooner or later, you will have to change the password on an ArcGIS Server account. Either the password will get lost, expire, or you'll have some sort of permissions issue with ArcGIS Server, and the easiest thing to do is reconfigure the ArcGIS Server account to reset permissions on all the appropriate directories. I know, it sounds scary, but it's not. Trust me. Esri makes this pretty painless with the Configure ArcGIS Server Account wizard. Get to it by going to the Windows Start menu and then Apps | Configure ArcGIS Server Account.
