Publishing a feature service from ArcMap

Hosted feature services can be published to your Portal if ArcMap is connected to your Portal. To connect ArcMap to your Portal, do the following:

1. Close all the ArcGIS Desktop applications and launch ArcGIS Administrator. Click on the Advanced button.
2. Under the ArcGIS Online section, click on Manage Portal Connections....
3. In Manage Portal for ArcGIS Connections, click on the Add button.
4. Add the Web Adaptor URL of your Portal in the Add Portal for ArcGIS window. Back in the Manage Portal for ArcGIS Connections window, select your new connection and click on the Connect button.

To publish a feature layer to be hosted on your portal, follow these steps:

1. Open the MXD you wish to publish in ArcMap.
