Service capabilities
ArcGIS Server comes with a standard set of service capabilities that can be enabled for services, some of which do require additional extensions to be installed. These capabilities define the various ways clients can use the services. The following screenshot shows the default service capabilities that are enabled for the standard SampleWorldCities service that is published with an ArcGIS Server installation and configuration. Mapping will always be enabled by default, and, typically, KML will also be enabled:
