Publishing to ArcGIS Online

In addition to publishing to ArcGIS Server, feature services and tiled map services can be published to ArcGIS Online directly from ArcMap with no additional software installation necessary. Publishing content to ArcGIS Online is a straightforward process, similar to publishing to ArcGIS Server. To publish a feature service to ArcGIS Online, sign in to your ArcGIS Online account with publisher or higher access. In ArcMap, go to File | SignIn and enter your credentials. Next, just as you would do to publish to ArcGIS Server, go to File | Share as Service, select Publish a service, and then hit Next.
