ROS is fully compatible with the Ubuntu operating system by design. Moreover, the ROS distributions are planned according to Ubuntu releases. Nevertheless, they are partially supported by Ubuntu ARM, Gentoo, macOS X, Arch Linux, and OpenEmbedded.
