4. Type the word Flowers: (note the colon).
5. Press Enter twice (or click Mark and then click Close). Word inserts an {XE
“Flowers:Rose”} field into your document.
Although the key sequence is a bit convoluted, with practice it can be mastered.
{XE} fields are hidden. If you insert them via the Mark Index Entry dialog box, Word turns
on the Show All feature so you not only can see the fields, but you also get dots for spaces.
To turn off Show All, choose Tools, Options, click the View tab, and clear the All box.
If you want to see your {XE} fields, choose Tools, Options, and on the View tab check the
Hidden ...
