Drop Caps
Publisher allows you to dress up documents with decorative initial caps, called drop caps.
These options in Publisher are similar to those in Microsoft Word, with a few extra flour-
ishes. Publisher offers several preset drop caps as well as the option to create a custom
design. To add a drop cap, choose Format, Drop Cap and adjust settings as shown in Figure
39.22. Unlike in Microsoft Word, a drop cap in Publisher is simply a formatted character
(not a character placed inside a text box) so spell check still works properly on the first word
in a paragraph.
