From the Links dialog box, you can change the object (using the Change Source button),
update the linked object manually, or break the link altogether. If you have a document
you’re about to take on the road or send to a client, you should consider breaking the links
prior to sending the document.
When you break the link, a format conversion takes place, changing the linked object into a
picture, which is then placed in the document.
