So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Best practices for effective iconography
Iconography is the use of visual elements and symbols to convey a specific message to the user when interacting with a device. It’s a basic practice that’s used in UI design and can greatly improve the user experience when used correctly. Some research studies have found that iconography is not as effective as we would like to think; apparently the user doesn't find it easy to memorize. Both of these arguments are debatable and have merit. Unfortunately, the impact of icons has been corrupted by designers using icons for decorative purposes only and not to support a message.
