When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Catering for visual disabilities
Support for visual impairment means a few different things, depending on the impairment. It may mean enhanced visuals; for example, partially sighted people can use magnifiers to view websites. Make sure the text of the website can be magnified without losing its structure.
It may mean translating the screen into audio or braille format. Blind and partially sighted people use screen readers, which read a screen, and braille embossers for printing. There are various guidelines for ensuring a website can be read by a screen reader, including labeling the page structure meaningfully as lists, menus, headings, and so on, and making sure all images have associated text (since screen readers cannot read images). ...
