Once you know what you want to research and the metrics that you want to use, you can decide which research method(s) to implement. While specifying the metrics, you have probably already narrowed this down, as certain metrics can more easily be gathered using specific methods, for example analytics, usability tests or questionnaires.
The method will have implications for the kind of data that is produced, the number of participants, and how the data can be analyzed.
