Wireframes can be created at various levels of detail, from simply blocking out areas of the page to a complete specification. A complete wireframe specification should have the following elements:
- Key pages: There should be a wireframe for every type of page of your website. If you have multiple pages that follow the same format, it is less important to wireframe every example.
- Screen elements: For example, buttons, dialogs, menus.
- Layout: Grid size, spacing between elements, footer and header, content areas, image placeholders.
- Annotations: Notes about aspects not captured visually, for example usability of elements and possible interactions.
