In this chapter, we have described how to conduct research as a foundation for your web design project, and to ensure its success throughout the project.
We began by defining and characterizing research, considering validity and reliability, quantitative and qualitative research, when to conduct research and common UX research methods.
Thereafter, we described how to set up and manage a research process from creating the research question to analyzing the results.
We discussed how to bring your own expertise into the research, and then delved into qualitative and quantitative techniques.
