ソフトウェア開発プロセスの全体像
アーキテクチャの設計はソフトウェアの設計アクティビティの一種で
す。ここでは設計とは具体的に何を指すのか、ソフトウェア開発プロセ
スの中でどのような位置付けなのかを確認したいと思います。
ソフトウェアは顧客へ利便性を提供したり、顧客の課題を解決したり
するなど顧客のニーズを満たすために開発されます。顧客の漠然とした
ニーズからスタートし、いくつかの段階を経て動作するソースコードへ
と変換していく一連のアクティビティから構成されるのが、ソフトウェ
ア開発プロセスです（図 2.1.1）。
図はプロジェクトの作業工程（フェーズ）ではなくアクティビティの
流れを表していることに注意してください。ウォーターフォール開発プ
ロセスの場合はそのままフェーズとなりますが、アジャイル開発プロセ
スの場合は1週間〜1カ月程度のイテレーションの中で、ユースケース
単位にこれらのアクティビティを実施します。
