It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

3.3.3に示します。各々のマイクロサービスは専用のデータベースを持
ち、サービス間でデータは完全に分離されます。サービスベースアーキ
テクチャと比べて一つ一つのサービスの粒度は小さくなります。マイク
ロサービスと呼ばれる所以です。そのため、ユーザーからのリクエスト
に対して処理を完遂するために他のマイクロサービスを呼び出すことが
頻繁に発生します。トランザクション境界が複数のサービスをまたがる
場合もあります。
また、クライアントのユーザーインターフェースからマイクロサービ
スを直接呼び出すのではなく、APIを集めたレイヤーを経由するケース
が多々あります。このレイヤーはAPIゲートウェイと呼ばれ、主な目
的は以下のとおりです。

ユーザーインターフェースから細粒度のサービス呼び出しが多数発
生すること（ラウンドトリップ）を防ぐ
●
認証や認可など横断的な関心事を一箇所で処理する
