It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

アーキテクチャ記述
3.5節で紹介したADRは個々の設計判断を記録し共有することを目
的とした軽量な文書ですが、アーキテクチャ全体を説明する文書も作成
する必要があります。この文書は、アーキテクチャドキュメント、アー
キテクチャ記述（SAD：Software Architecture Description）、アーキ
テクチャ説明書などの名称で呼ばれるものですが、本書ではアーキテク
チャ記述という表記に統一します。
3.1節でアーキテクチャの定義を引用したISO/IEC/IEEE 42010:

は、アーキテクチャ記述を標準化した規格です。また、SEI
（Software Engineering Institute）が公開するViews and Beyond

というアーキテクチャ記述のテンプレートもあり、ダウンロードして利用
することが可能です。
ただ、これらのテンプレートは形式的な側面もあり、そのまま使うと
成果物が重厚になりがちです。大規模システム構築で顧客への納品が求
められるなどの特別な事情がなければ、もう少しアジャイルで軽量なア
プローチを取った方が実利的です（もちろん、こういった標準規格やテ
ンプレートは体系的に整理されているので、参考とする情報源としては
有益です）。
