I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
OBJECTIVES
There are many systems, using computers and telecommunications for special functions such as banking, transferring funds electronically, and booking hotels. Extensive use of telecommunications is found in world wide airline reservation systems. Some of these have thousands of terminals, all obtaining very quick responses on communication links that circle much of the world. They employ most of the different communication facilities.
There are three main objectives in designing a reservation system.
- To improve the service given to passengers and potential passengers.
- To save staff in sales offices and control offices where reservations are processed and space on aircraft controlled.
- To improve the load factor on flights.
