VLP PLAYER CONTROLS
The player Fig. 34.23, is housed in a plastic case of modern design. All operating controls but one are arranged on a sloping panel at the front, together with a number of LEDs indicating which function has been switched on.
Measures have been taken to prevent opening the lid when the disc is spinning and or the laser is ON.
In order to satisfy the most stringent safety requirements a double protection against laser radiation is provided for when the lid is open. Not only is the laser supply switched OFF automatically, but also a small metal shield is placed in the light path.
