WASHING MACHINE HARDWARE
A system is an assembly of components united by some form of regulated interaction to form an organised whole. We will examine a microcomputer system, using a washing machine control as an example. The input peripherals consist of (Fig. 51.4).

- temperature sensor which senses the washing water temperature. (The analog/digital converter changes the analog values to binary numbers).
- safety cut-out switch.
- keyboard for program selection.
- water level gauge.
- motor for washing drum.
- power switches for motor, heater, etc.
- heater for washing water.
- water inlet valve.
- water suction pump. ...
