Managed solutions

When we don't want our solution to be editable in the target system, we export our solution as a managed solution. Managed solutions can be installed and uninstalled easily. We don't need to remove individual components the way that we do in unmanaged solutions. When a managed solution is installed in the target system, it does not overwrite the existing customization of the system. Whether our managed solution will be available for editing or not depends on the managed properties of the component under the solution. As you can see in the following screenshot, we can select different options for our components, to indicate whether the solution can be modified in the target system if it is installed as a managed solution: ...
