Business intelligence extensions

Although Dynamics 365 CE provides many out-of-the-box reports, dashboards, and charts, if required, we can develop our own business intelligence extensions in Visual Studio or develop them in the Dynamics 365 CE application itself. We can develop two types of reports for Dynamics 365 CE, which are as follows:

  • FetchXML: FetchXML reports are developed for Dynamics 365 CE online, where we write our query in XML-like syntax, which is known as FetchXML.
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): These reports are developed for Dynamics 365 CE on-premise, where we can write our query using SQL.
