One of the best salespeople I ever met was a tiny woman in her late 70s. One day, my husband, Joe, and I wandered into a suburban Westchester County lighting store, with a long shopping list in hand. Dazzled and baffled by the vast selection of fixtures, we didn't know where to start.
We were met by a pixie. Barely five feet tall and smartly dressed, Ann briskly introduced herself, clipboard in hand. I must admit I was surprised to see a woman of her age still working the sales floor. But we could barely keep up as she trotted us around the showroom.
