You’ll also begin to see what work you can actu-
ally handle and what you can—and should—delegate
to others. (See the section “Delegate” later in this
book.) Lowest-priority items are often those that can
often be handed off. This is the fastest path to obtain-
ing additional time that you can use toward more
important work.
Use deadlines to your advantage
Now that you have a sense of which tasks are most
important and need to be done fi rst (or last), it’s time
to think about when to actually do them.
When planning any kind of project (even one with-
out a prescribed deadline), set realistic, meaningful
end dates. Deadlines put pressure on everyone in-
