に焦点を絞って来た。この章では、本番インフラストラクチャの運用品質を問題にしていく。
私は、運用品質全体を指す言葉として「継続性」という言葉を使っている。継続性の目標は、ユー
ザーが中断されることなくサービスを使い続けられるようにすることだ。サービスは、高速かつ正確に
動作しなければならない。データは利用可能で正しくなければならない。悪意を持つ人々がいかなる
形でもサービスを破ることがあってはならない。何かまずいことが起きたときには、ユーザーにほとん
ど、あるいはまったく影響を与えることなく、すぐにそれを検出し、修復しなければならない。
継続性に対する伝統的なアプローチは、変更を制限し、コントロールすることだった。あらゆる変更
