Infrastructure as Codeを成り立たせているのは、ソフトウェアを実行するために使われるシステム
やデバイスは、それ自体もソフトウェアであるかのように扱うことができるという考え方である。この
ように考えると、ソフトウェア開発の世界で効果が実証されてきたツールや作業プラクティスが利用で
きるようになる。この章では、多くのチームがインフラの開発、メンテナンスでうまく機能することを
実感してきたソフトウェア工学的プラクティスをじっくりと検証していく。
この章で取り上げるソフトウェア工学的プラクティスのメインテーマは、システムに品質を組み込む
ことだ。品質は開発から切り離されたプラクティスではなく、システムが構築されたあとのテストと片
付けられるようなものではない。品質は、インフラストラクチャデベロッパを含むデベロッパたちが、
システムを計画、設計、実装、デリバリーするときに密接不可分な一部として含まれていなければなら
ない。
