サーバーのプロビジョニング
サーバーのプロビジョニングに典型的に含まれるタスクは、ハードウェアの確保、サーバーインスタ
ンスの作成、ディスクのパーティショニング、オペレーティングシステムのロード、ソフトウェアのイ
ンストール、サーバーの各部の構成 /設定、ネットワークのセットアップ、サーバーを完全に使える状
態にするために必要なサービス（たとえば DNS）へのサーバーの登録などである。
サーバーのプロビジョニングは、サーバーのライフサイクルのさまざまなポイントで行われる。新し
い物理サーバーや仮想マシンインスタンスを作るときにすべてを行うことができ、それがもっとも単純
な形だが、プロビジョニングの一部の作業はあらかじめ行っておいた方が効率的な場合がある。たと
えば、サーバーテンプレートイメージには、プロビジョニングの一部を保存できる。それを使えば、複
数のサーバーを作ることができる。新しいサーバーを作るたびに同じソフトウェアパッケージをインス
トールしなくても、1 度にまとめてインストールすることができる。その方が新サーバーを早く作れる
し、サーバーの統一性を保つために効果がある。
