サーバーテンプレート管理のパターン
この章では、今までの章のサーバーの作成、プロビジョニングについての説明を基礎として、サー
バーテンプレートの管理方法を深く掘り下げていく。
サーバーテンプレートを使えば、新サーバーを統一的に反復可能な形で構築するために役に立つ。
しかし、そのためにはテンプレート管理のための優れたプロセスが必要だ。パッチや改良がすべて組
み込まれた最新のテンプレートを作り、維持しなければならない。テンプレート自体が自己記述、自己
テストプロセスを含む透過的で反復可能なプロセスによって作られていなければならないのである。

ストックテンプレート：ほかに管理してくれる人はいないか？
もっとも単純なテンプレート管理の方法は、誰かほかの人に任せることである。OSベンダーやクラ
ウドサービスの多くは、図 7-1のようなパッケージング済みのストックテンプレートを提供している。
ストックテンプレートには、OSのベースインストレーションとサーバーをホスティングプロバイダの
もとですぐに使える状態にするためのデフォルトの構成 /設定、ツール、ユーザーアカウントが含まれ
ている。サーバーテンプレートは、たとえば、ローカル DNSサーバーとOSパッケージリポジトリを使
い、ホスティング環境についてのメタデータを探すユーティリティをインストールするように構成 / 設
定することができる。
